Comfortable and Testing

So....Jax is feeling pretty good and comfortable about his new found home now after 6 days, and he's started testing. Testing: running the opposite way when you call him, testing:grabbing a shoe or leash and running away with it, pretty much seeing how far he can take it. Our vet said "get a hold of it before he's big, and really takes over"
We're on it. We've both become drill sergeant's for the time being. It seems to be working quite well. Except for being on duty, whenever he is out of his kennel.

When you've been in the world just over 8 weeks, and can enjoy it like a dog well...everything is great. A bus, a car, a bike, a bird. Sit and Discover.

Spitting Image

His favorite spot to hang right now! In front of the mirror, sometimes he barks and sometimes he just lies down and stares at his reflection. I like to think he views his image as one of his brothers or sisters and is comforted by it. Pretty cute stuff.

Office Visit

I stayed home today to look after little big man. He's been pretty well behaved, I must say! Just got home from the office with him, where he had lots of attention and "awes, and oh's" he's all tuckered out now. He's so well behaved with everyone, very social, excited, with a calm demeanor. Love this little guy.

It Gets Better

It's 9:40pm, Jax has been asleep for almost 2hrs without a sound! Only the second night and we're getting a grip on the house-breaking and kennel training! It's all down hill from here...right? Wait...there he is.... I spoke too soon...

Day 1 w/ Jax

After a long drive home from Innisfil, Jax has arrived, and we were so excited to have him...until bed time... We were up every 2 hours until 6am, when we finally gave up to start the day off.. Hey..no one said training a puppy was easy!

Growing Down

So I've had quite a few dogs growing up, and 2 of my own personally that weren't family dogs (Both Groenendaels). But I've never had a pup...Soon, he's 7 weeks, we'll get him next weekend!

I'm going to write all of the funny stories and possible painful moments of raising him. The grown ups are funny enough, can't wait for all the funny pups stories.
